Here are some kind words from my supporters!
It has been my honour and pleasure performing for and with you.

Dear Matthew,

You have a particular sensibility in singing and many, many other qualities to be a professional singer.

My wife and I were impressed with you and your voice overall.

Please tell us how we can help You.

I live in VIAREGGIO, close to Lucca but I give private lessons in Milano on Wednesday and Thursday when I teach in Verdi Conservatorio.

Thank you for so much for your good words about me and CONGRATULATIONS.

Matthew is a very accomplished vocalist who has many years of experience performing on different platforms.

I have worked with Matthew on several occasions and I see him as someone who has an incredible passion in what he is doing.

With an attitude of excellence, he always makes sure that his audience receives the best of him, and this has been affirmed by the many smiles, cheers and much applause from those he performed to.

It’s a pleasure to work with a performing veteran like Matthew. Highly qualified to perform and teach, Matthew Quek is one artist and vocal trainer I would strongly recommend.

Aaron Low, Keyboardist

Matthew is a very accomplished vocalist who has many years of experience performing on different platforms.

I first met Matthew Quek at a wedding gig many years ago & performed with him recently at the Esplanade Concourse, which, by the way, was an immense success- mainly due to Matthew’s wonderful vocals and the great choice of repertoire.

He is always working very hard and looking for opportunities to perform.
He has grown a lot as a vocalist- from singing classical to jazz standards, and pop songs to original compositions. Matthew has great capacity to develop into an extremely good and outstanding performance artiste.

With this background and credentials, I am sure the local scene will be able to advance his career as a full time professional vocalist, and he will be able to contribute a great deal to the music scene.
Matthew is very pleasant, well-liked and sensitive to the needs of other musicians especially during rehearsals and gigs.

Teo Boon Chye, Saxophonist

Matthew was blessed with a stunning and gorgeous voice. As his voice teacher, I feel privileged to have been able to help him with the technique required to utilize, and most importantly, preserve his instrument’s longevity. He brings such touching renditions to his repertoire. I believe that his upcoming EP will impact the lives and hearts of many.

Alfredo Olarte, Voice Teacher

Matthew was born and blessed with a beautiful voice, and I feel honored to have been able to help him actualize more of it. He brings such heartfelt interpretations to his songs that his upcoming CD will be sure to move millions of listeners.

Hi Matthew,

Very nice. Thanks and congratulations! I really like your approach on, for example, “All The Way” when you sing it lightly in the beginning. It becomes very intimate and a truthful expression of the words. Good work!

Furthermore, glad you had interacted with the Mediacorp staff and Colin so that they know of your talent ‘live’ now that they had seen you personally. Cheers and have a good weekend!

Dear Mr Quek,
First, Thank you for contacting me for words of advice and secondly, my apologies to you for this being late of a reply. Indeed, I have checked out the websites you posted. And afterwards, I thought to myself that

  1. You are already well-advanced in singing and that
  2. You do NOT need any more advice from me nor any other professionals. I guess we all need to hear from others, at one point or another, that we are good… and I say you are WAY MORE than GOOD~!

So, Please continue to do what you’ve been doing, and Great, big opportunities will knock on your door! Best of luck to you and hope to see your name in big Musicals in the near future…

Matthew Quek has been involved in vocal training and singing for more than ten years. He is a competent pianist, having passed Grade 8 in piano performance (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, London). Matthew then proceeded to pursue singing, passing Grade 8 (ABRSM) in Voice with distinction and receiving his Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Voice from Trinity College (London, England).

When Matthew first approached me in my office, I was quite impressed by his earnestness to want to record an album and have me produce it for him. One thing I cannot resist is when people are earnest about their desires to express themselves musically. Even though I had not heard of Matthew before he approached us, I quickly became interested in this project. To undertake this planning and production of a debut album take tremendous effort and it was clear that Matthew had set his heart on this.

I listened to the demo of his singing and thought that he had a strong and pleasant voice in the style of Broadway artistes who could also sing jazz standards. After all, a great number of what we regard as jazz standards are in fact from the great Broadway musicals.

When we went into the studio with my musician friends to record with Matthew, he sang his heart out and put his best foot forward, and what has resulted is a wonderful album of jazz standards, romantic ballads and a couple of Broadway tunes. Matthew delivers these beautiful songs with much grace and aplomb.

Subsequently, in 2012, Matthew produced his sixth solo album “Inspirited”. Distributed by Integrity Media regionally and internationally, ‘Inspirited” contains inspiring and moving semi-classical musical pieces which showcase Matthew’s talents, and will propel him onto the international music scene.

Matthew, on the 6th July to the 15th July 2012, represented Singapore in a prestigious overseas competition- the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Los Angeles Hollywood. (Refer to website http://www.wcopa.com/). This project was officially endorsed by the National Arts Council of Singapore. Matthew received a partial scholarship by WCOPA itself, and also was granted a subsidy from NAC. He obtained a silver medal in the senior vocal category of the World Championship of performing arts held at Los Angeles Hollywood. The Senior category was one of the most competitive groups in the competition as many contestants were expected to perform at a professional level.

Matthew has evolved as vocal performer and as a vocal educator too. Recently, he was also invited to be one of the main judges and guest performers for the inaugural “Christmas Music Festival 2012: Give love on Christmas” Christmas caroling competition at the Arts House on the 16th and 23rd December 2012.

I would like to strongly recommend Matthew Quek in his endeavor to pursue his vocal studies professionally overseas or locally. It is my opinion that he will be a very positive source of inspiration and guidance in the local, and even international music scene. As such, I would like to urge NAC to seriously consider granting Matthew the NAC scholarship or other related grants.

Please feel to contact me should you require any clarifications. Thank you!

Matthew Quek, who was my vocal student over the past three years, has been involved in vocal training and singing for more than ten years. Matthew then proceeded to pursue singing, passing Grade 8 (ABRSM) in Voice with distinction and receiving his Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Voice from Trinity College (London, England) under my tutelage.

He contacted me, asking for vocal tutelage and guidance a few years back and I was greatly encouraged by his persistence in seeking vocal enlightenment and improvement as I could see his passion for this craft.

Subsequently, in 2012, I was personally involved in training Matthew for the production of his sixth solo album “Inspirited”. Distributed by Integrity Media regionally and internationally, ‘Inspirited” contains inspiring and moving semi-classical musical pieces which showcase Matthew’s talents, and will propel him onto the international music scene.

Hi,

My name is Natipong, and I am a Thai national who is a PR in Singapore (for business). Just wanted to inform you that my curiosity was piqued by your plain, though attention catching, CD cover at HMV and picked up a copy of your CD. In general, I liked your songs (though to be honest, there were one or two which I didn’t think were anything more than plain – but I guess that’s always the case). Anyhow, I enjoyed it very much and thought I should let you know!

Natipong

Matthew,
Just listened/watched your face book video. My goodness how wonderful you and your sister (was that Dorcas on piano) sound together. Your voice and your attention to the emotional elements of song have really grown in power and subtlety. I’m glad to hear your hard work has paid off so handsomely. There is great music making going on there. Congratulations!

I hope all of your musical ambitions are fulfilled in 2008.

Hi Matt,

For the showcase, if the lack of practice comes forth at that level of goodness, imagine how WOW you’d be if you really did practise! You were great, as always!

Matthew – our own Josh Groban; not much practice, you say, just imagine if you had a little practice! And your noble mission for the good of the world, notable indeed.

I came to Matthew Quek upon a recommendation that he could help further my vocal ability. I have found Matthew to be knowledgable and passionate about the voice and singing. He has demonstrated and taught me various techniques to target breath support, pitching and physical and mental tools to enhance my voice. Matthew has been able to demonstrate these techniques himself and is always enthusiastic and patient. I would recommend anyone wanting to learn more about the voice and how to improve their singing technique to take vocal lessons with Matthew Quek.

By the way, just want to say that I like some of your songs in the album “My Romance”, especially, “Music of the Night”… big fan of all these songs… you sound good for Broadway and West end!

HONESTLY, I’ve heard many versions of music of the night, yours I was truly touched.

I’ve felt your passion.. If someone appreciates the music I’ve played for them, I too will feel encouraged. I’ve got that in Sydney Town Hall, so I kind of understand it!

Matthew is an inspiration to many. His dedication to music and love for performing arts are commendable. It was my privilege to have Matthew representing Team Singapore 2012 during the 16th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts held in Hollywood, where his outstanding performances received rave reviews from the movers and shakers of the international performing arts industry of Hollywood, New York and Nashville. As an accomplished singer songwriter with numerous accolades to his name, Matthew is one of the best vocal coaches in the industry.

Sean Wong, Producer of Worldstars Media and Team Singapore Director for the Annual World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood

I have engaged Matthew for corporate and retail events. Each time, he proved to be immaculate and well prepared, and this, I believe, is attributed to his deep passion for music, singing and performance. In each show, he never fails to give of his best, and always hits the high notes at the perfect pitch. He has a wide repertoire of music genre and is both patient and flexible to tailor a song list according to the occasion, and the profile and demographics of the audience. He is someone, I would say, you can always count on to get the job done!
